The DLG Cropping Center www.dlg-ipz.deis situated in the arable farming heartland of the fertile Magdeburg Börde, one of Germany’s regions with the least rainfall (500 mm) per year. But, the fertile black soil absorbs and stores the water very well and so this region is perfect for growing high-quality wheat, but also winter barley, winter rape and sugar beet crop, maize and durum wheat.
Excellent travel connections
Situated between Magdeburg, Halle, Dessau-Roßlau and the Harz woodland, the town of Bernburg is easily reached via the A14 motorway. Travellers to the DLG Cropping Center take the A14 exits Bernburg or Straßfurt. Then follow the B6n carriageway in east-western direction. The Leipzig/Halle airport can also be reached via the A14 motorway.
