International Cultivation Comparison for Winter Wheat at DLG Feldtage 2022

A classic of the DLG Feldtage (Field Days) will once again bring both visitors and fellow exhibitors to the DLG stand in June 2022. As in previous events, specialists in wheat cultivation from Germany and abroad will invite discussion on all aspects of the cultivation of this important crop with their methods.

After field preparation, the varieties selected by the participants were sown on site by the trial field technician on 23/11/2021. The mild weather typical of the area ensured that the plants were already coming up on 9 December.
The participants' instructions for the first weed control and fertilisation measures are now expected.

Many of them are good acquaintances and have long experience in international cooperation with German universities and private cultivation companies. The International Cultivation Comparison for Winter Wheat compares different philosophies of crop management in winter wheat. In addition to a high contribution margin, it is also about protecting the environment and high-quality crops. Here, the courage to think out of the box is called upon to try out unconventional strategies and present them to the visitors for evaluation. The participants each follow an individual cultivation strategy, which is implemented at the Feldtage site. What is interesting in this competition is how the experiences and measures from the countries of origin can be implemented and have an impact on the site. During the DLG Feldtage, participants will be available to answer questions about their strategies from visitors on site. Visitors can make their judgement at the demonstration plots and talk to the authors of  the procedures.
