Accreditation Guidelines

Individuals Entitled to Accreditation

1. Journalists

Journalists who intend to provide editorial coverage of the respective DLG event and can provide appropriate proof may be accredited.

Journalists with a valid press card

Journalists holding a valid press card will be accredited upon submission of corresponding proof. For this purpose, the front and back of the press card must be uploaded in the specified file format in the accreditation portal.

Journalists without a press card

Journalists without a valid press card may be accredited if they submit current proof of their journalistic activity.

The following will be accepted:

  • at least one published editorial piece not older than six months
  • a current imprint (masthead) listing their name
  • a written editorial assignment to report on the respective trade fair
  • proof of journalistic activity for a school newspaper or youth press organization

Please note: Persons under the age of 14 can only be accredited if accompanied by an adult supervisor.

2. Content Creators

Content creators may be accredited for the respective event if they can provide suitable proof of their editorial activity. One to a maximum of three web links to their own blog, podcast, or social media channel (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) must be submitted as part of the application.

To qualify for accreditation, the submitted channels must meet all of the following criteria:

  • The account name must be entered in the “Company Name” field during registration.
  • The channel must include an imprint or at least display the full name of the applicant.
  • The channel must have been active for at least six months.
  • The visual appearance, content quality, and reach must meet DLG’s quality standards.

Accreditation decisions are based on the submitted documentation and an individual case review.

Formal Guidance on the Evaluation and Decision-Making Process

DLG reserves the right to request additional proof during the review process. There is no legal entitlement to accreditation.

In the event of a rejection, we kindly ask that you refrain from telephone or written inquiries. Due to the high volume of applications, it is not possible to provide individual assessments or comments on decisions.

Applicants may revise their submitted documentation and submit a new accreditation request.

The press center on-site may only be used for editorial reporting on the respective event.

Film and Photography – Protection of Rights and Safety

All accredited journalists and content creators are required to comply with applicable legal regulations when producing video, photo, and audio recordings, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Art Copyright Act (KUG), and other relevant media and personal rights laws.

  • The personal rights and privacy of all participants must be respected at all times.
  • Recordings showing individuals in inappropriate, degrading, or clearly unwanted situations are prohibited.
  • For recognizable individuals, effective consent must be obtained prior to publication unless statutory exceptions apply (e.g., images of contemporary events or photographs of gatherings according to § 23 KUG).
  • Special care must be taken in technical areas, at exhibitor stands, and in areas with high visitor traffic, especially regarding safety, operational processes, and consideration for others.

DLG reserves the right to take appropriate measures in the event of violations, including withdrawing accreditation.
